About Refinement House

Growing up, my parents owned a café. I remember asking why they stored the coffee cups in the crammed space above the espresso machine instead of the many abundant cabinets. My mom told me, "Coffee tastes better when the ceramic cup it's served in is already warm."

That's the kind of detail customers feel but can't quite articulate. The reason they keep coming back to you instead of the three other cafés on the same street. I've spent almost two decades working in consumer insights and the experience side of some of the largest brands in the world — Saks Fifth Avenue, Bergdorf Goodman, Macy's, Swatch, SK-II, Olay, Gillette, and many others — and more recently in technology, focused on how brands evolve their experiences in a digitally enabled world.

My real specialty sits at the intersection of two worlds: the meticulous, intuitive eye of a family-run business, and the operational discipline of the largest brands. That's what Refinement House is built on.

I work with businesses across consumer brands, retailers, hospitality, and wellness — refining the details that quietly elevate their customer experience and keep people coming back.

How We Work Together

Refinement House works with businesses across consumer brands, retailers, hospitality, and wellness— refining the customer experience details that quietly build loyalty. Engagements typically start with a two-part experience workshop, designed to identify the highest-impact opportunities for refinement, based on deep customer understanding, and translate them into a clear, actionable plan.

Part One — Discovery

We meet to understand your business in depth: your vision, your customer, where things are working, and where there's quiet friction. From there, I spend time experiencing your business firsthand — as a customer would — to identify the moments and details that shape how someone feels about the experience.

Part Two — The Refinement Plan

We meet again. I share what I've observed, the specific refinements I'd recommend, and where I see white space in your category that you can move into. You leave with a clear, prioritized set of opportunities — and a point of view on which ones are worth acting on first.

Ongoing refinement sessions are available for businesses that want continued partnership after the initial workshop.
